Poggio d'Oletta

Right in the heart of the "Conca d'Oru - Vignoble de Patrimonio - Golfe de Saint-Florent" classified site and Grand Site de France, U Poghju d'Oletta is a beautiful village on the eastern flank of the Nebbiu balcony, where life is good. Rich in unspoilt nature, its plain is largely planted with vines and its mountains rise to an altitude of almost 900 metres (Monte alla Torra).

U Poghju d'Oletta is in the Patrimonio AOC, and its vintages are outstanding: Domaine Leccia, Clos Guidicelli, Domaine Montemagni, Clos Santini, Clos Yves Leccia, Domaine Orenga de Gaffory, Domaine Paradella, Domaine Boccheciampe, Clos Clementi.

U Poghju d'Oletta is a very old village in the Oletta Trap, with 8 religious buildings, two of which are listed as Historic Monuments (San Quilico chapel and Santa Croce oratory). Some finds even attest to the area's occupation in the Middle Neolithic period (grotte di sole). The history of Poghju d'Oletta is marked by the 18th-century life of the Corsican Antigone Maria Gentile, whose ruined house can still be seen in the hamlet of Munticellu.

U Poghju d'Oletta is affected by two natural areas of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest.
