Rutali
Once famous for its poets, Rutali is a hilltop village overlooking the Nebbiu plain. In the center of the village, you'll find the richly decorated 17th-century Baroque church of Saint Vitus. Inside, a gold-trimmed chasuble covering the Virgin Mary was donated by Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III, in 1860. There is also a gilded wooden statue of the Virgin called "A Madunuccia", dating from the 19th century.
From here, you can discover the many witnesses to a period of intense agro-pastoral activity. For walkers, the "Tra aghje è Pagliaghji" trail, with its magnificent dry-stone dwellings and "aghje" wheat-threshing areas , will take you back in time on a two-hour loop.
Two processions take place in the village: the first on August 12 celebrates Saint Claire, the second on August 16 celebrates Saint Roch.
